7. Shawn Michaels (World Wrestling Entertainment)
Jason Le Blanc on Michaels: When I found out that I would have the opportunity to write about Shawn Michaels for the TWD50, I was ecstatic, as I’m sure many would be. Then I actually sat down to write about Michaels, and I realized that I have absolutely no clue of what I could say that hasn’t already been said by thousands of others. Michaels is one of those few talents that, no matter how hard you try, you can never really find the words to adequately describe just how good he is. Nevertheless, I will try, even if it might be futile.
If a man walked into my office right now with a loaded gun, pressed it to my temple, cocked the gun, and promised to blow my brains out unless I booked a 5 star wrestling singles wrestling match, one of the men I would put in such a match would easily be Shawn Michaels. Continue reading »
I guess it’s not really a spoiler since they said it would be Little People’s Court this week:
Speaking of the Monday Raw, WWE has booked a local Baltimore courtroom for Monday afternoon to film pre-tapes involving Hornswoggle taking DX to court. The gimmick will be that the entire courtroom, including the jury, will be filled with little people. Verne Troyer is guest hosting Monday.
Jim Ross talked about DX’s match at Survivor Series:
The last bout was the only bout to close the show with and it delivered big time. HBK’s opening super kick on HHH set the tone for the contest. Several times during the match I felt each man was going to win. Cena, HHH, and HBK took us on a great ride with several surprises and near falls. All three men in this bout should feel proud of their efforts nd hard work. Announcers should live for these type bouts and the Kofi-type moments.
Several issues from Sunday night’s PPV have aroused my curiosity as to how they will followed up on during the 3 hour “Jesse Fest” on Monday night on USA that starts one hour early.
After Chris Jericho left the stage following his promo, Triple H picked up the mic and asked: “Did he really just say he’s the best in the world? Damn, I thought our jokes were bad.” Shawn Michaels followed up with “if your not down with that, we got two words for ya’”
Following John Cena being put through the table in the final televised segment, Legacy came to the ring and beat down on Cena. DX ran down to make the save. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase bailed, leaving Orton on his own. Orton begged Cena to team up with him and take out DX. Cena gave Orton the “You Can’t See Me” had gesture and Orton turned around and walked into Sweet Chin Music. HHH hit him with the Pedigree, and Cena followed up with the Attitude Adjustment. Cena and DX shook hands with some fans and headed to the back. Fun Show.
After Raw went off the air, Orton & Legacy came out and attacked Cena. DX made the save. Legacy ran to back. Orton took everyone’s finishers and fled. DX and Cena celebrated.
TLC Preview:Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show vs. D-Generation X (Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match)
At WWE: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show will face their greatest challenge since forming their golden alliance, putting their titles on the line against D-Generation X in a TLC Match.
Although the innovative, new WWE pay-per-view will feature matches utilizing ladders, tables and chairs, the Unified Tag Team Title Match will be the one battle that will incorporate all three.
The TLC is a notorious, career-threatening match like no other in which tables, ladders and chairs are all legal. The object – to ascend and grab the championship gold that is hanging above the ring before your opponents can – becomes even more daunting once the two additional elements of mass mayhem are thrown into the mix.
