After Raw Went Off The Air Video

D-Generation X continued their off the air antics when RAW cameras stopped rolling with John Cena and this time they took Kofi Kingston in as well. Triple H once again complained about Cena’s “DX position” and told him that it’s all in the hips. “Hey, he’s a phony Jamaican and he’s got the rhythm man,” Triple H told Cena while pointing towards Kofi. After the whole “for the thousands in attendance” stuff, Triple H was about to say “Let’s get ready to suck it” but kept long on the “L” and started to cough and spit and doing all kinds of funky noises as the crowd enjoyed every second of it. “Swine Flu, sorry,” said The Game! Then he asked for a bottle of water, took a sip, spit it back out in the timekeeper’s face and kept on with the show. Hilarious! Check it out below courtesy of YouTube user klwwe23.

Jim Ross Talks About Shawn

Jim Ross spoke about Shawn in his blog today:

Got a wonderful text message from HBK that had me tearing on Friday. What a wonderful spirit and heart possessed by HBK who is arguably the greatest in ring performer currently active in the business. He is for my cash. The man Shawn Michaels has evolved into is a credit to his Faith and his family and would be great for young wrestlers to observe closely. Wrestlers, not unlike any other grouping of talented, insecure, and creative types need leadership on a consistent basis. That includes mentoring, hands on handling of issues and the honesty that it takes to build a sound, long term foundation that promotes individual growth which in turn helps build companies. Those that are in a position to manage significant aspects of the biz need to always remember that their most important assets are their talent and how talents are managed, developed and lead is going to determine the long term success of any company, wrestling or other wise.

Two of my goals in wrestling are to broadcast HBK and the Undertaker’s last bouts which I get the feeling will not be any time soon. There is no reason for either man to contemplate retirement while the money is huge, they can adequately manage their travel schedules and most importantly that they still love what they do. Obviously, their health overrides every thing but both men seem to be holding up well and can do more with less than the vast majority of their peers. As a matter of fact, most wrestlers try to get too much in their bouts which causes a disconnect with many fans because of the break neck pace where maneuvers and situations mean less and less.

How cool is it to get communications from Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels within hours of each other with both just checking on how I’m doing? My friends are a true blessing and none of us should ever take our friendships for granted.

Kofi Kingston Talks About Shawn

You’ve gone from being Jamaican to Ghanaian. Could you please clear up your background for us?

Kofi Kingston: I was actually born in Ghana, West Africa. As far as the whole Jamaican thing is actually concerned, growing up I actually loved everything about Jamaica. I loved the food, the culture, the laid-back attitude. When I came to the WWE initially I wanted to come out to something that attributed both my love for wrestling and the Jamaican heritage. I wanted to come out to something unique and something people had never seen before. But at a certain point it becomes about being real and true to yourself, as opposed to playing a character. You look at guys like Triple H. When he first started out he was Hunter Hearst Helmsley and before that he was Terra Ryzing – I don’t know if a lot of people know that. Stone Cold Steve Austin was Stunning Steve Austin before he became Stone Cold. The Rock was Rocky Maivia before he became The Rock. Shawn Michaels was a Rocker before he became the Heartbreak Kid. I think in wrestling and the WWE you see a trend of guys who make transitions. And I think for me I’m in that transition stage into coming into my own.

If you could choose your opponent for Wrestlemania 26 next year in Phoenix, Arizona, who would it be against?

Kofi Kingston: As long as I am there then that will be cool. I really don’t know. It could go many ways this year. Who knows? I’m starting to get involved with Randy right now. Who knows how long that’ll go on for? But I would love to have a match with Randy at Wrestlemania. I grew up watching Shawn Michaels. For me to have a match with Shawn Michaels would be coming full circle for me. Money in the Bank again, I would love to go in there and beat seven other guys. I don’t know, as long as I am there and doing something then that is cool with me.

Backstage Raw Note

Thanks to Molly for sending me this note on the guest hosts for Monday’s Raw:

After a closed session with the writers and a final walk-through, the drivers exchanged handshakes with the JGR staff and received “good luck” words from everyone. WWE legend Shawn Michaels, a huge NASCAR fan who had earlier snapped pictures of the practice burnouts, came into the room and asked Logano to autograph some memorabilia for his kids.

WWE Power 25: Number 2

As co-captains of Team Raw, DX fell victim to Big Show’s betrayal. However, not all is bad, we think, because both men will face Cena for the gold at Survivor Series.

WWE Champion John Cena vs. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels (Triple Threat Match)

12274478

WWE Champion John Cena delivered a memorable performance against Randy Orton at WWE Bragging Rights to capture his seventh World Title. The Champ, however, will have no time to rest or celebrate as he will have to defend his gold against a pair of allies, DX’s Shawn Michaels and Triple H, in a Triple Threat Match at Survivor Series.

Unlike most Triple Threat Matches which generally feature three existing foes, this extraordinary contest carries a much different outlook.

Cena, for one, will be forced to resist punishment from two former World Champions and future WWE Hall of Famers. The Game and HBK are two of WWE’s most illustrious all-time ring warriors, and unquestionably, each expect to reclaim the title.
