Erik Watts was interviewed by World Wrestling Insanity and mentioned a phone call he got from Shawn recently:

One huge topic that will leave many fans happy is Erik’s video library. As many fans know, the Watts family still owns the Mid-South tape library. Fans can head over to www.UniversalWrestling.com to see all the rare footage available. In fact, just recently, Shawn Michaels called Watts for some of his early footage to show his children and Erik sent it right over – including Shawn’s first five matches ever on TV! Watts says that merely talking about the footage gives him goosebumps.

Jim Ross talked about Shawn in his WWE Universe blog:

Yours truly exchanged messages with HBK recently and he is feeling good and has enjoyed spending a much needed summer with family and allowing his veteran body to recover from the affects of a long, successful career and, specifically, the epic encounter Shawn had vs. the Undertaker at WM25.

HBK and HHH have been working on a DX book that I was asked to make a few, minor contributions. I “think” the book comes out this fall.

I’m sure that HBK hasn’t missed the travel that comes with a WWE schedule. I dread virtually every trip I make to an airport these days that include slow, security lines, uninformed travelers who think that they can intimidate TSA personnel, older women who don’t want to take their shoes off and expose their “bunions,” travelers who never heard the term “quart sized plastic bags, and airlines that are rarely on time.

Jim Ross talks about the DX book in his latest blog:

Speaking of books, I did some writing work on an upcoming book about DX that really brought back some memories from years gone by and not all of them were pleasant ones. I am under the impression that this book will be released this fall but I could be wrong on that. DX were heat seeking missiles back in the day and rubbed many folks the wrong way. They were at the forefront of the “Attitude Era” in WWE and it will likely never be duplicated. Some of the behind the scenes stories regarding the fall out over many of the actions and antics of the DX faction should make for an provocative and fun read.

John Morrison was interviewed by History of WWE and mentioned Shawn:

Morrison said he grew up a fan of Shawn Michaels and tries to emulate him in the ring. Radio DJ Mike Levay asked if Michaels was one of the wrestlers who was jealous when Morrison came to WWE from “Tough Enough.” Morrison answered by saying Michaels was more concerned about whether a new wrestler could work rather than where he came from.

“Michaels didn’t really have anything to be jealous of. He’s one of those guys that respects hard work and talent,” Morrison said. “He’s just someone you work with and if you’re good at what you do, he respects that.”
