Jim Ross Mentions Shawn in Today’s Blog
Jim Ross posted a new blog today and mentioned Shawn:
Got a feeling Morrison won’t miss too many future PPV’s. John has HBK tendencies. Communicated w/ HBK and he’s had the summer off that he needed. Was in great spirits & never mentioned “retirement.” I would love to see Shawn back at Summerslam but that has not been confirmed.
This Sunday, Randy Orton will defend his WWE Title against Triple H under stipulations the WWE Universe hasn’t seen in seven years: A Three Stages of Hell Match. The odds will be stacked against The Viper as this is his first Three Stages of Hell contest, while his opponent, The Game, has not only competed in both of the match type’s prior outings, but also walked away the victor. Join WWE.com as we take a look at the history of this devilish competition.
Stage Two – Armageddon, December 15, 2002
Though younger fans may think Triple H and Shawn Michaels have always been close friends, the core members of D-Generation X have had some of the most brutal matches in WWE history. In late 2002, their friendship was put on the back burner as The Game challenged HBK for his coveted World Heavyweight Title in a Three Stages of Hell Match. Things were tied up after Triple H won a Street Fight and Michaels defeated his opponent inside a steel cage, but The Game won the title by taking their final contest, a Ladder Match.
No real news, just the same things I’ve been saying about it:

There is still no official word in on when Shawn Michaels will be returning to WWE television. HBK was pretty banged up after his WrestleMania 25 match and was given a lengthy period of time to spend at home recovering and recharging his batteries.
Michaels said to the company that he wanted an extended period of time off television to spend with his family. Obviously WWE executives hope to have “The Showstoppa” back sooner than later, although again, no official word is in on when he’ll be showing back up.
Thanks to Deborah for the heads up that the “Allied Powers: Greatest Tag Teams” DVD is now available for pre-order on WWEShop.com. It will go on sale officially on July 14th.
Throughout the decades, fans of sports entertainment have long enjoyed the controlled chaos of tag-team wrestling. Many future Hall of Fame performers started as part of a popular duo, such as Shawn Michaels (the Rockers), Bret “Hit Man” Hart (Hart Foundation). Now, for the first time on DVD, fans can enjoy the greatest tag teams in sports entertainment history in Allied Powers: The World’s Greatest Tag Teams. Hosted by The Miz and John Morrison who are the current World Tag Team champions and the longest-running WWE Tag Team Champions in recent history. They bring their own brand of humor to this 3-DVD set that hits the biggest and the best duos throughout the annals of sports entertainment.

John Morrison was interviewed by ESPN.com and mentioned Shawn:
ESPN: Who were some of your favorite wrestling characters to watch when you were growing up?
John Morrison: HBK (Shawn Michaels), loved him. Rick Rude, Ricky Steamboat, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man … all those guys. I can go on and on.
ESPN: Getting back to wrestling, I was wondering who you currently enjoy watching when you sit back and view the show from a fan’s perspective.
John Morrison: I love the athleticism of Rey Mysterio and Evan Bourne. I love watching HBK and I’ve been a fan of him my whole life. Watching him is like watching Rembrandt paint a masterpiece.
ESPN: Have you had the opportunity to sit down with Shawn Michaels and pick his brain about your career?
John Morrison: Yeah, Shawn is really good about talking to anyone who asks him for advice. And if you don’t ask Shawn for advice, you’re an idiot.
ESPN: What’s the best piece of advice he gave you that has stuck in your mind?
John Morrison: Something that Randy Savage told him back in the 90s, and that advice was (in his best Savage impersonation), “Don’t take yourself out of the game kid.” Which means, don’t get frustrated. Wrestling is a lot about timing, and as long as you’re in the game of sports entertainment and the wrestling industry, then your time is going to come around at some point. But if you’re not in the game, if you take yourself out of the industry, then it never will.
Shawn is taking some time off from WWE right now. We don’t know how long his vacation will last. The Wrestling Observer reported that some people in WWE think that he may return in late July.
