Off Air Raw Report
Posted by DJ on September 30th, 2008. Filed in Raw Results -- Comments Off

Jason Powell from ProWrestling.net attended Raw last night and provided this report from when Raw went off the air:

-Chris Jericho and Lance Cade went backstage following Jericho’s in-ring promo. They were introduced again for the main event just a short time later.

-Triple H and Shawn Michaels played to the crowd after the main event. Hunter did the “For the thousands in attendance and the millions watching at home…” line and was interrupted by Shawn, who whispered to him that the show went off the air. “Well, then for the millions who are not watching around the world…” Hunter responded. Lots of laughs over that line.

-Hunter and Michaels walked around the ring and slapped hands with the fans at ringside. Hunter stopped at one point to pose with a younger fan while his father (presumably) took a picture. Both guys went out of their way to shake every outreached hand. Shawn took it one step further by taking so much time that Hunter had to come back and was laughing while trying to get his attention.

WWE.com Raw Results: DX-plosive reunion
Posted by DJ on September 30th, 2008. Filed in Raw Results -- Comments Off

Shawn Michaels’ mystery partner revealed as WWE Champion Triple H, HBK & The Game def. World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho & Lance Cade by disqualification; Triple H and Shawn Michaels attacked Cade with a sledgehammer and a splash from a ladder.

After teasing out the mystery all night, Shawn Michaels revealed the WWE Champion as his tag team partner in a mini DX reunion. In spite of having Triple H by his side, Shawn Michaels was double-teamed by Jericho and Cade, leading the World Heavyweight Champion and his protege being disqualified. Afterward, The Game came back into the ring, attacking Cade with a sledgehammer and setting him up for HBK’s splash from atop a ladder.

Raw Results

Todd Grisham interviewed Shawn Michaels backstage. He said Lance Cade was good and he knew that ten years ago when he trained him. Grisham asked Shawn if Batista would be his partner. Shawn finally acknowledged his sketchy past with Batista. Without saying names, he teased Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and Bret Hart. He said he decided on a tag team partner “that actually likes me.”

Degeneration X defeated Chris Jericho and Lance Cade by disqualification in 4:56. Michaels’ music played first and DX’s music followed. Cole repeatedly said, “No way, no way.” Triple H and Shawn Michaels came out and did the DX pyro crotch chop on the stage. Cade and Jericho traded the offensive advantage on Michaels. Jericho missed a moonsault on Michaels and both men made hot tags. H hit a series of high knees and followed that up with a spinebuster on Cade. Triple H tried a Pedigree but Jericho hit the Code Breaker. Michaels attacked Jericho but Cade turned him inside out with a clothesline. They double teamed Michaels and the referee called for the bell. Weak. Jericho brought out a ladder but Triple H chased him off with a sledgehammer. Cade ate a sledgehammer shot to the abdomen, followed by Sweet Chin Music and a Pedigree. Jericho set up the ladder, climbed it, pointed with Jericho, and hit a splash reminiscent of the one he hit on Scott Hall at Wrestlemania X. Jericho looked on in disgust as DX’s music blared.

Kurt Angle mentions Shawn in an interview
Posted by DJ on September 29th, 2008. Filed in Misc News -- Comments Off

Daily Star interviewed Kurt Angle and he mentioned Shawn Michaels:

Angle has changed his tune on McMahon senior it seems.

“My anger has passed. I don’t blame Shawn or Triple H for what I went through. When it was time for me to get help, instead of shouting out I kept my mouth shut., Trip and HBK are two of the best wrestlers who ever lived. I harbour no animosity towards them. McMahon is a billionaire who wishes he had a gold medal in the Olympics. I may not have the money, but I am a valuable commodity. He knows, and I know.”
