ESPN columnist Bill Simmons interviewed former WWE star Shawn Michaels in his Friday podcast. “Everybody asks me if I get that itch,” Michaels said regarding his retirement. “And the answer is no, I like being on the other side.”
Michaels said he didn’t think he’d ever wrestle again after he left the company due to a back injury. He said he deferred to the doctor who told him he could no longer wrestle. “I was more broken spiritually and mentally at that time,” Michaels said. You can check it out at ESPN.com.

Michaels on his past problems: “I was angry. I felt like I deserved more. And it’s funny, once I got it that wasn’t enough… I was screwed up and I wasn’t taking care of myself in a lot of different ways.”
