Bret Hart & Cody Rhodes Talk About Shawn

Bret Hart was on Canada AM here in Canada this morning & talked about burying the hatchet with Shawn. It’s nothing new, but if you want to check it out you can do so at this link.

Cody Rhodes did a chat on Arizona Republic and was asked which match he thought should close Wrestlemania:

Shawn Michaels vs. the Undertaker. Never count them out. Shawn Michaels is ancient now — even if he was double the age he is now, he’s still the absolute best. And Undertaker is the franchise of the WWE,” he said. “It will be in the WWE’s best interest to put that match on last because nobody could follow it.”

Jim Ross Talks About Shawn’s New DVD

Jim Ross talked about Shawn’s new DVD in his latest blog:

Fans of HBK or wrestling in general should grab the new Shawn Michaels DVD that is available today (Tuesday). I’ve seen it, I love it and it brings back a truck load of memories. I only wish I had been available to be the one interviewing Shawn for this project but that apparently wasn’t an option. Buy the DVD and I promise that you will love the amazing array of bouts that, arguably, the best in the biz today, performed in on a high level even when he was a hot headed kid. I remember Shawn from his first territory and even remember the big Cowboy fining Shawn right after Shawn made his Mid South debut for inadvertently missing a TV taping because he did not know that EVERYONE came to TV whether their name was on the booking sheet or not.

(Updated because it was announced on Raw that it will be a no disqualification, no countout match. The bout can only be won via pinfall or submission.)

At WrestleMania, The Undertaker will put his 17-0 undefeated streak on the line against Shawn Michaels’ storybook career, in a rematch so highly anticipated and potentially explosive that it could only occur on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

At HBK’s request. this much anticipated rematch can only be decided by pinfall or submission. So, no matter what happens, one of these men’s fates will be decided.

The showdown between The Demon of Death Valley and HBK at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania one year ago had seemed like destiny. The Phenom – never bested in the history of WWE’s greatest pay-per-view – would finally clash with Mr. WrestleMania himself. Although The Deadman ultimately reigned supreme over Michaels in a match many consider as one of the greatest of all time, the epic battle only fueled their mutual legend as well as the WWE Universe’s insatiable thirst for a return confrontation. Undertaker made his entrance & cut a promo on HBK. He said last week was an example of what his life was like since he became number 17. He cut his standard promo, except he talked about ending HBK’s career as opposed to taking his soul. A big HBK chant started, and then was met by an equally loud boo. He said Shawn had a dark cloud over his head, and that would be all he had left the day after Mania. In said he took no joy in telling us that in three weeks, Shawn Michaels’s career would, “Rest in…”

From ProWrestling.net:

DX came out and did their little intro thing and Triple H ended up throwing his glow sticks into the scaffolding, so he had to do it again. When Triple H grabbed the mic it went flying at the referee. Triple H made a crack about the company being cheap, so they brought him a wireless mic. He then mentioned that they’d said on Raw that they weren’t doing the DX thing any more, but they “forgot” they’d booked it in Boise and so it was special. But then Triple H added that they’d done the same thing in Salt Lake City the night before, but we could still pretend it was special.

8. DX and John Cena beat Batista, Sheamus, and Randy Orton. The match started out with Batista and Cena, but Batista kept ducking out of the ring, which caused a “boring” chant to start. Triple H spent most of the match in the ring. Cena hit his “five moves of doom” on Orton, then a back and forth of finishers. HBK hit Sweet Chin Music on Orton, which gave Cena a chance to hit the Attitude Adjustment on Orton and get the pin. The match started out slow and boring and kind of continued that way through the end.
